Refunds Policy

Management may consider refunds for cancellation of accommodation as follows:

2 months notice – 100% refund of deposit

1 to 2 months notice – 75% refund of deposit

2 weeks to 1 month notice – 50% refund of deposit

Less than two weeks – no refund of deposit

Refunds must be requested in writing.

Guests are liable for the full period booked.

Direct Deposit

You may pay for your booking through a direct deposit. It’s exactly the same as doing an EFT payment, except you’ll have to go into your bank and physically make your direct deposit there. Please fax through your deposit slip to us on 036 468 1390 to ensure your reservation is confirmed.

Dear Bridge Enthusiast,

We are pleased to announce the 5th Annual Nest Bridge Week - set in the scenic majesty of the Central Drakensberg of Kwa-zulu Natal!

Once again Heidi Atkinson will be our Bridge Lecturer and Convenor. Her passion for bridge and people, her teaching abilities and organisational skills ensure that you will be well looked after.

From humble beginnings, our Bridge week has become more and more appealing to South African Bridge players of all skill levels. We have scheduled the Bridge Clinic for Intermediates aimed at improving their Bridge skills. We end off with a Weekend Tournament of fun, friendly and competitive play. The tournament is hosted in our impressive conference venue and run professionally with instant scoring, personal score sheets and hand records .

The Nest offers an ideal venue for learning and fun in the crisp and fresh Drakensberg winter tableau. Our tasty South African country cooking and warm hospitality provide relaxing respite from the often snow bound mountains on display. The Drakensberg has always attracted all types of people, all looking for different accommodation to suit their needs. Our area now boasts accommodation ranging from basic camping in the Drakensberg foothills all the way up to beautiful suites offering a great degree of space and luxury. The Nest offers unique Drakensberg accommodation in Garden Rondavels, Mountain View Rooms and executive Suites. Rates are fully inclusive of all meals and offer a variety of traditional tastes of South Africa. Our Garden Rondavels offer a comfortable accommodation option set in our tranquil gardens.

The Mountain View Rooms are very popular with their patios overlooking the major peaks of the Central Drakensberg. They are an ideal place to relax and observe the silent and towering mountains – especially in the evening for those impressive Drakensberg sunsets.

We now also have two Executive Suites offering more refined accommodation. These rooms are increasingly popular and are fully booked over most weekends.

Although the Drakensberg is a year round destination, certain periods are in very high demand for accommodation. Easter, the Festive Season and long weekends sees our valley at full capacity as guests treat themselves and their families to a well-earned Drakensberg getaway. For these times of the year, it is important to reserve your accommodation well in advance.

The snow has arrived early this year and by most forecasts, we can expect a chilly season with a whole lot more snow on our mountains and in our valley.

This is always a brilliant platform to market our product to various agents and tour groups both locally and internationally.

It appears that there is healthy interest in South African tourism and particularly to the majestic Drakensberg where The Nest is based.

Although we are not situated on a main World Cup Soccer route, we have attracted the attention of a few tour operators who have booked rooms at our resort for a few days in June 2010.

One of the highlights of the 2010 Travel Indaba was that The Nest won the Hall of Fame accolade from the well-known AA Travel Guides American Express Travel Guides. This is a great honour for us and we wish to acknowledge and thank all staff and our motivated and service orientated team for all of their hard work and effort.

We also would like to thank the tour operators and agents who have loyally supported The Nest as well as all new contacts who we introduced our delightful Drakensberg resort to. We look forward to a long lasting and mutual beneficial relationship which we are sure will grow in future years.
